Vira Bonavia was born in old historical city of Kiev, Ukraine. Her mother always mentioned since she was at a young age, she had a pencil in her hand. At the age of 10, she started taking lessons for painting flowers design. When she was 12 years old, she was awarded on a "Country Juniors" exhibition. At 14, she was already sketching for her friend, but no-one had faith in her. Then, she was spotted by an artist studio and offered to start to study drawing professionally. Since then, her life had changed. The shy, weak and constantly sick girl had become the most popular and talented person in school. In 1988, she graduated as an architect from Famous Kiev Art Academy. By that time, she had achieved many different techniques as watercolours, freehand techniques and pastels and mix techniques. In 1993, she moved to Malta where she continued working as architect. There she fell in love with the sea and oil paints. Landscape and town views inspired her for new achievements. Life obstacles just made her stronger. She was reborn for new inspirations... After achieving photography course, her camera has become her best friend. Whatever she takes it, her camera-friend will wisely remember places for future paintings. That's how came the series "Malta","Venice" and "Paris". On her artistic career, Vira made from acqure technical drawings, thought layering watercolour and mix techniques to intuitive painting short and massive with emotional lake waves.
